Dim sum dining. (Taken with instagram)
There was no turkey, gravy or stuffing for us this past Thanksgiving. My aunt instead served-up a brilliantly delicious hot pot filled with vegetable, seafood and tofu goodies. Nothing beats a Chinese style Thanksgiving!

I received my screener copy of the film Formosa Betrayed. Going to pop it in the player and watch it tonight. My interview with actor/co-producer Will Tiao is set for Thursday. Alas, though, no interview James Van Der Beek this time. I will get you yet, Dawson… (not in any creepy way that is).
The finishing touches are being added, the story will be sent for the editor’s remarks. Jarrelle Barton (pictured above) gave me a glimpse of true passion with his unwavering affinity for the Chinese instrument guzheng. In his home, he treated me to a private concert, and we spoke about how he found his way to the music and his aspirations for the future. Such a talented and determined young man. He had me wondering what in my life do I love nearly as much.
Tomorrow I’m heading out to Savage, MN, to meet with a brilliant guzheng player. He’s a high schooler and not Chinese, but he rocks out on that instrument. I’ve had the chance to see him perform twice and both times he has marveled me with his skill. I’m writing a story about his background, interest in the instrument and why he became so involved in the Chinese culture and community. I have an inkling that this will be a good story.
