Enjoying a bit of homemade galub jamun. YUM! (Taken with picplz.)
My stomach had quite the workout this past weekend but not in any healthy way. I tagged along with my cousin @snnychng and his pals to one of our favorite Minneapolis-eateries, Uptown Diner. This scrumptious place is well known in these parts for delicious grub and extra-large portions. Personally, I like their breakfast selections such as the Tex Mex and Cajun Breakfast (photographed above), both of which are seemingly reaching local legendary status now-a-days.
What enticed us to gorge on family-sized-servings of breakfast foods and stretch the limits of our denim sizes? I guess we aren’t above eating uncomfortably large servings of chow just to gain momentary fame.
If you’re hankering for some sweets, I recommend grabbing a few cupcakes from the bakery boutique Sweet Retreat. I personally like the cookies-n-cream cupcake which has half an Oreo lining the bottom. Their cupcakes are simply scrumdiddlyumptious!
With a hot cup of milk tea and the song Mony Mony by Tommy James & The Shondells, I will get through this day.
I had the honor of eating a piece of this seriously delicious cake. The homemade frosting slathered all around this fella was amazing. Never will I buy pre-made frosting again.
We dined on curry pizza at Pizza Hut in Hong Kong. I love that the Pizza Huts here are much like California Pizza Kitchens back home. No frumpy little storefronts here.
These are the most elegantly made xiaolongbao I’ve ever had. I love Din TaiFung.
