The Colosseum in Rome, Italy, is an absolutely stunning structure. In my opinion, this is one of the world’s greatest landmarks and a must see in your lifetime. I’m slowly posting my favorite photos from my series “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!” but if you want to see the whole set check it out here.
This is a photo of the magnificent Colosseum located in Rome, Italy. We journeyed to eight cities throughout Europe and saw many unbelievable structures, but the Colosseum is my favorite of all that I witnessed. The building is immense and was designed with considerable care and detail. Construction started in 72 AD it was capable of seating 50,000 spectators, the same capacity as Minnesota Gopher’s TCF Bank Stadium. I wish I could see this building back in its hey-day.

We visited the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall this afternoon. I hadn’t been there in a long time and it was nice to see the park has remained pristine. For your photography junkies, this is a great place to go in Taiwan for those who want to capture some amazing architecture. This is a shot of the main entryway at the front of the memorial.
The Science Museum of Minnesota today opens a brilliant and rare exhibit that features the world’s oldest known biblical writings.
The 2,000 year old Dead Sea Scrolls are on exhibit from now through October 24. These scrolls are regarded as one of the most significant archeological finds in the 20th century. This is a definite must see in my opinion.
If you’re grimacing over the thought of paying for parking, Metro Transit has you covered. Free bus rides are available over the weekend, March 12-14, for those seeing the Dead Sea Scroll exhibit. Not a bad deal.
Check out the Science Museum’s Web page for more info on the exhibit and to download the bus pass.
